We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a £59,166 funding boost from the Scottish Government’s Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund for the appointment of a dedicated Activities Coordinator.
The new fund supports person-centred initiatives to help address the impacts on physical and mental health caused by social isolation and loneliness.
The funding will be used to promote digital inclusion for those in Later Living developments, where residents are typically over 55 and receive an enhanced service from Loreburn to support independence and wellbeing.
Heather Dorling, Later Living Service Manager, said: “The pandemic taught us all how important it is to keep in touch with family and friends.
Heather added: “The Activities Coordinator will recruit and train volunteers to work with Later Living customers, helping them to reconnect and energise our communities.”
