Shoppers

Being able to shop for food is an important part of staying well and independent.

As a trusted, reliable and friendly volunteer, you'll provide a weekly shopping service which helps our customers who are unable to visit the local town themselves.

For those with limited mobility or without transport, getting out and about is a real problem. This is something that we hope to roll out across all of our Later Living developments, so we can provide a volunteer-led shopping delivery service for as many of our customers as possible.

How does it work?

You'll be providing a reliable and friendly shopping service for our Later Living residents.

While the majority of our customers either shop for themselves or have it delivered by the local Food Train service, we want to go extra mile for our customers.

As a part of the Fit for Life Service, we want to ensure that customers have access to a wider range of local amenities. There may be times where our customers are after something a little different - maybe they're celebrating a birthday or hosting afternoon tea with friends.

Your role will be to be collect these special items on behalf of our customers, encouraging them to try new foods or bring back memories with an old favourite.

Shoppers normally dedicate a morning to this activity each week, although this is a flexible post and can be worked around your usual routine.

What skills do I need?

We're looking for some GREAT volunteers who...

  • Have good people skills

  • Are patient, empathetic and understanding of the needs of our customers

  • Have a good level of physcal fitness

  • Can work well as a part of a team
