School clothing grants

School clothing grants can assist families with the cost of school clothing if they have a low income or receive a qualifying benefit.

You may be eligible for a School Clothing Grant if you have a child who attends a school in the region and you receive one of a range of benefits.  You can find out more using the link below to Dumfries & Galloway Council.

The current award for a School Clothing Grant is £134 for a Primary aged child and £150 for a Secondary aged child.

Clothing grant payments from Dumfries and Galloway are now paid directly to the applicant's bank account. You must fully complete the method of payment election form attached to the application.  Payments can't be made to Post Office accounts.
